Devgn CineX Announces Its Boldest Expansion Yet With New Megaplexes In Bengaluru And Hyderabad
Devgn CineX, one of India's fastest-growing luxury cinema exhibition chains, is entering a new phase of growth with two major additions to its footprint. By the end of this year, the brand will open an 11-screen megaplex in Bengaluru alongside a 7-screen property in Hyderabad, marking its entry into two of South India's most important entertainment markets.
Building A Pan-India Footprint
The two new properties add to what has already been a strong run for the brand. Devgn CineX currently operates 57 screens across 19 locations nationwide, with 30 additional screens already in the pipeline for this financial year. The Bengaluru megaplex is set to be among the chain's largest destinations yet, while the Hyderabad property gives it a foothold in a city known for audiences who expect a premium, well-crafted cinema experience. Together, the two launches represent a significant step in Devgn CineX's push to become one of the country's leading exhibition players.
More Than Just A Screen
The expansion arrives at a moment when Devgn CineX is actively reshaping what a trip to the movies looks like. The brand has built its identity around hospitality, premium dining and immersive technology, extending well beyond the film itself. That includes live screenings of major sporting events such as T20 cricket and the FIFA World Cup, curated dining options ranging from bento-box concepts to healthier menu choices, and venues designed to double up as spaces for corporate events and private celebrations. Digital engagement, loyalty programmes and data-led personalisation are also being built into the experience, aimed at making every visit feel more rewarding than a standard show.
With India's exhibition sector at something of an inflection point, shaped by rising aspirations, growing discretionary spending and rapid premium retail development, Devgn CineX is positioning itself less as a place to simply watch a film and more as a curator of experiences and long-term relationships with its guests.
What The Leadership Is Saying
Ajay Devgn, Founder of Devgn CineX, spoke about the personal connection behind the expansion into these two cities:
"Bengaluru and Hyderabad have always had a strong connection with cinema, and the audiences here have given my films a lot of love over the years. With Devgn CineX, the aim is simple, to give them a great cinema going experience. These two properties are an important step forward, and there's a lot more to come."
The company also welcomed Ajay Agrawal as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing decades of leadership experience across retail, infrastructure, financial services and other consumer-focused businesses, with a track record of turning strong customer experience into sustainable business growth.
Speaking on the expansion, Ajay Agrawal, CEO of Devgn CineX, said:
"Bengaluru and Hyderabad are pivotal markets for us, and these two properties reflect the scale of our ambition. As we grow, our focus remains on building a future-ready organisation where every guest interaction, from the moment of booking to the last frame on screen, is seamless, personal and memorable."
What This Means For The Brand's Future
With 57 screens already live, 30 more underway this financial year, and now two landmark properties set to open in Bengaluru and Hyderabad by year end, Devgn CineX is scaling at a pace few luxury exhibition brands in India have matched. As the sector shifts towards experience-led entertainment, these two launches look set to be an important marker of just how far the brand intends to go.
