Ajay Devgn Recalls Terrifying Skydiving Incident: “The Person Before Me Fell and Died, I Was Next”
Ajay Devgn, popularly known for performing high-risk stunts since his debut in Phool Aur Kaante (1991), recently shared a spine-chilling memory from his early training days. While promoting his latest film De De Pyaar De 2, the actor opened up about a shocking skydiving incident that left a lasting impact on him.
A Harrowing Experience During Training
During a conversation with BookMyShow, R. Madhavan praised Ajay for pulling off a skydiving stunt without any previous experience. Responding to this, Ajay narrated a disturbing incident from his training in the United States.
He said, “The moment I reached there, I saw someone fall because his parachute didn’t open. He died right in front of me. And I was supposed to jump next.”
Ajay also mentioned that a similar situation once happened with Leonardo DiCaprio, who survived because his instructor jumped after him and saved his life. According to Ajay, even a message from DiCaprio is displayed there which reads, “Thanks for saving my life.”
Ajay Devgn’s Recent and Upcoming Projects
Ajay Devgn was recently seen in De De Pyaar De 2, the sequel to the 2019 hit film. The movie features Rakul Preet Singh and Jaaved Jaaferi reprising their roles, along with new additions like R. Madhavan, Gautami Kapoor, Meezaan Jafri, and Ishita Dutta.
Directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, the film is expected to stream on Netflix in January 2026 after its theatrical release. Ajay will next be seen in the much-awaited Drishyam 3 in 2026.
Box Office Performance of De De Pyaar De 2
De De Pyaar De 2 opened with ₹9.45 crore on Day 1, showing a decent start. It grew to ₹13.77 crore on Day 2, taking the two-day India total to around ₹23 crore.
As per current estimates, the film’s lifetime India collection stands at around ₹23.22 crore, while its overseas gross is approximately ₹3.72 crore, making its worldwide total roughly ₹31.36 crore.
