According to Variety India, the two are already exploring a new project together even before the release of their upcoming collaborations Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan. After delivering classics like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Garam Masala in the 2000s, the pair went their separate ways in 2010 post Khatta Meetha. Their reunion with a horror-comedy and a thriller signals that both are keen to rebuild the brand that once ruled the box office.
The update confirms that Akshay and Priyadarshan plan to collaborate more frequently going forward. While Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy, is slated to release first, followed by Haiwaan, a new comedy film is already being discussed. The yet-untitled project is said to be produced by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films, marking another reunion Priyadarshan and Tips previously delivered Hungama and Malamaal Weekly.
