Akshay Kumar's 2026 Blitz: Four Films, Two Set for Excellen Openings

Akshay Kumar is lining up a massive 2026 with four big projects: horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, comedy sequel Welcome to the Jungle, thriller Haiwan, and an untitled comedy-drama with Anees Bazmee. The first two already have firm dates Bhooth Bangla hits cinemas May 15, 2026, after moving from April 2, and Welcome to the Jungle lands June 26, 2026. Both are generating strong buzz and are expected to pull in big Day 1 numbers.

Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay with director Priyadarshan after 14 years, featuring a star-studded cast including Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar. The film's new poster promised a "double dose of fear and laughter" and is positioned as a family-friendly horror comedy. The shift from April to May was strategic, avoiding a clash with the high-profile Dhurandhar 2 and giving it a clearer runway.

Welcome to the Jungle is the third chapter in the beloved Welcome franchise, directed by Ahmed Khan. It boasts an enormous ensemble of over 30 actors, including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, and Paresh Rawal. The June 26 release date is locked in. The franchise's legacy and massive cast are fueling expectations of a Excellent opening.

The other two projects Haiwan and the untitled Anees Bazmee film are still awaiting official announcements.
