Daayra: Merits Aside, The Film Doesn't Strike A Chord
Daayra doesn't really strike a chord, despite its merits. The film benefitted from the BOGO (Buy One Get One) ticket offer on Saturday and Sunday, but the numbers should've been significantly higher, especially at the multiplex chains. Even with the added incentive of free tickets, the weekend total of ₹5.63 crore reflects a film that hasn't managed to convert discount-driven footfalls into a genuinely strong opening.
The BOGO offer continues today (Monday) as well, and how strongly Daayra holds through this extended discount period will be worth watching, though the underlying trend so far suggests limited audience pull.
Vibe: A Decent Weekend, But Growth Could've Been Higher
Vibe had a half-price ticket offer from Friday to Sunday, giving the business an extra push and resulting in a decent weekend total of ₹8.15 crore. A section of the audience has responded positively to the film, hence the growth should've been higher given the discount in play.
