Drishyam 3 Malayalam Version Set for April Release; Hindi Adaptation to Follow After 6 Months
The much-awaited Drishyam 3 is officially on its way, and fans of the iconic thriller franchise have a big reason to celebrate. Director Jeethu Joseph has confirmed that the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, will hit theatres in the first week of April, nearly six months ahead of its Hindi counterpart led by Ajay Devgn.
This early release once again reinforces the trend seen with the earlier installments, where the Malayalam original takes the lead before the remake versions follow suit. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Georgekutty has become legendary over the years, making the Malayalam franchise the emotional and narrative backbone of the Drishyam universe.
Speaking about the film, Jeethu Joseph acknowledged the immense expectations surrounding Drishyam 3. He stated that the franchise itself carries a heavy burden of hype due to the phenomenal success of the first two films. However, the director also made a humble and honest request to audiences to watch the film without carrying overly high expectations.
According to him, Drishyam has always worked best when viewers step into the theatre without preconceived notions, allowing the story to unfold naturally. This statement has sparked curiosity among fans, hinting that Drishyam 3 may focus more on emotional depth and storytelling rather than just shock value.
The Hindi version, starring Ajay Devgn, is expected to go on floors after the Malayalam release, keeping in line with the franchise’s usual adaptation timeline. Given the massive popularity of Drishyam among Hindi audiences, anticipation remains sky-high for both versions.
As April approaches, all eyes are now on Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph to see how they plan to conclude or possibly elevate the legacy of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated thriller franchises.
