Fatima Sana Shaikh on Experiencing Seizures During ‘Dangal’
Recalling the incident, Fatima said she initially did not fully understand what was happening to her. As the situation worsened, she informed the people around her that she might be about to have a seizure.
“It came, and I was like, ‘Nahi, nahi, kuchh nahi, ho jaayega’. But it kept increasing. I told the people around me that I was about to have a seizure. Nobody really knew what it was, even I didn’t understand it properly.”
She added that the team immediately tried to figure out how to respond.
“Luckily Aamir was there, Sanya Malhotra was there, and Kripa Shankar Bishnoi, who was training us, was also present. They quickly searched online and tried to understand what was happening. Eventually, the production house took responsibility and decided to get me properly checked.”
Diagnosis and Treatment
Fatima revealed that the production team later arranged medical consultations for her. She underwent several tests including MRI scans and EEG before meeting a neurologist in Mumbai.
The actor said she was prescribed medication, but the initial treatment had strong side effects.
“The medication felt too strong for me. I felt like I was under the influence. I couldn’t walk straight and everything felt wonky. I was feeling very depressive and angry all the time. I felt very alienated.”

He recalled feeling helpless during the situation.
