Golmaal 5 Is Finally Happening: Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn's film to go on floors in February, Targeting 2027 release

After years of anticipation, one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy franchises is finally gearing up for its next chapter. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn are all set to bring Golmaal 5 to life, with advance preparations moving full steam ahead.

According to reliable industry sources, the team intends to kick off the film’s shoot toward the end of February, with a marathon production schedule planned to run through July. The project is eyeing a theatrical release in the first half of 2027, making it one of the most anticipated films on the calendar.

Golmaal has been one of the most successful comedy franchises in Indian cinema, with four installments over the past two decades that have consistently resonated with audiences and delivered solid box-office returns. This new film promises to retain the franchise’s signature humour while exploring fresh ideas to keep the spirit of Golmaal alive for today’s viewers.

The original core cast is expected to reunite for the fifth instalment, reprising their iconic characters and bringing back the chaotic camaraderie that fans have cherished over the years. While official confirmations on casting are awaited, insiders suggest the familiar Golmaal gang will return in full force.

Shetty, who will wrap up his current project, a Rakesh Maria biopic starring John Abraham by January, will dive straight into Golmaal 5. The film is being touted as one of his major ventures for the big screen in 2027.

With its mix of slapstick comedy, ensemble performances, and nostalgic appeal, Golmaal 5 is shaping up to be one of the biggest comedy events for Indian audiences in the coming year.
