Government Directs CBFC to Take Strict Action Against Nora Fatehi’s ‘Sarke Chunar’; Removal from All Platforms Ordered

The controversy surrounding the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the upcoming film KD: The Devil has taken a serious turn, with the Government of India now stepping in and directing strict action against the track.

The song, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, has been facing massive backlash ever since its release, with many viewers criticizing its allegedly vulgar and sexually suggestive lyrics and visuals. The outrage quickly escalated across social media, prompting legal complaints and official scrutiny.

According to reports, the government has now instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take strict action, including ensuring the removal of the song from all platforms.

Earlier, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had also issued a notice regarding the matter, following which the Hindi version of the song was taken down from YouTube.

The controversy intensified after multiple complaints alleged that the content of the song was inappropriate and could negatively impact audiences, especially younger viewers.

Amid growing pressure, the makers removed the song not just in Hindi but also its regional versions from streaming platforms. This move is being seen as a significant setback to the promotional campaign of KD: The Devil, which is positioned as a major pan-India release.

The issue has also sparked a wider debate around censorship, content boundaries, and the increasing use of provocative elements in mainstream cinema. Several industry voices and public figures have weighed in, with some calling for stricter regulations, while others have raised concerns about creative freedom.

With the government now directly involved and CBFC instructed to act, the situation marks one of the rare instances where a film song has faced such strong regulatory intervention even before the film’s release.
