Ranger: Action Goes Next Level as Ajay Devgn Himself Takes Charge, Sequence Led by Jailer-Fame Kevin Kumar
Ajay Devgn is taking his involvement in Ranger a step further by stepping behind the camera for the film's climactic action sequence. The actor, who headlines the upcoming adventure drama directed by Jagan Shakti, has reportedly taken charge of reshooting the finale, bringing his extensive experience with action films into the process.
According to a report by Mid-Day, Devgn is helming the reshoot of the climax at Golden Tobacco Studio in Vile Parle. Director Jagan Shakti had previously filmed the action block featuring Devgn and Sanjay Dutt but felt that the sequence could be made bigger and more impactful with Devgn taking over the directorial responsibilities.
The reshoot began last week, with Devgn working alongside action director Kevin Kumar — best known for choreographing the hard-hitting action in Jailer. A source revealed that Shakti approached Devgn because of his experience with action filmmaking and believed the superstar could elevate the sequence further. The team reportedly wanted the climax to have a much grander scale than what had initially been filmed.
Ranger Climax to Feature Massive Action Set Piece
The climax of Ranger is being mounted on a large jungle set created at the Mumbai studio. The sequence reportedly revolves around a confrontation between Sanjay Dutt's group of poachers and Ajay Devgn's forest officer character along with his team.
The action block is expected to feature multiple large-scale elements, including car chases, gun battles, and hand-to-hand combat, making it one of the key sequences of the film.
Ranger explores the theme of wildlife conservation, with Devgn playing a forest officer committed to protecting tigers. His character faces several challenges while dealing with a weak team, corrupt superiors, and an aggressive group of poachers led by Dutt's character.
Ajay Devgn Has Previously Reshot Action Sequences
This isn't the first time Devgn has stepped in to strengthen an action sequence in one of his films. He had also reshot certain key action portions featuring Kajol during the making of Maa in 2025.
His decision to take charge of the Ranger climax further highlights the actor's hands-on approach towards action-heavy projects.
Tamannaah Bhatia's Special Dance Number to Follow
Once the climax is completed, the Ranger team is expected to shoot a special dance number featuring Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah Bhatia. The song will reportedly mark the final shooting schedule of the adventure drama.
With a large-scale climax powered by Kevin Kumar's action expertise, an ensemble cast featuring Devgn and Dutt, and a wildlife conservation backdrop, Ranger is shaping up as another action-oriented project in Ajay Devgn's upcoming lineup.
