Ranveer Singh is set to close 2025 on a massive high with Dhurandhar, and his 2026 slate already looks equally ambitious. According to a report by Mid-Day, the actor’s upcoming post-apocalyptic project, tentatively titled Pralay, is expected to go on floors between July and August 2026, after he completes work on Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
Sources cited by Mid-Day reveal that Don 3 will be the first project to roll in early 2026. Once that schedule wraps up, Ranveer will shift focus to Pralay, with final timelines likely to be locked by January 2026. This scheduling gives the makers sufficient time to mount the film on a large scale.
A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Thriller Set in a Ravaged Mumbai
Pralay is described as a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller that explores survival against the backdrop of societal, emotional, and moral collapse. Director Jai Mehta reportedly uses the zombie genre as a metaphor to reflect deeper human conflicts and breakdowns.
The film is said to reimagine Mumbai in a dystopian, Hunger Games-like setting. As per Mid-Day, the makers plan to recreate a devastated version of the city using a mix of large physical sets and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements. Significant portions of Mumbai will be digitally aged to achieve an abandoned, ruined look, with additional shooting planned at multiple locations outside the city.
Director’s Vision and Scale
Pralay will mark Jai Mehta’s feature film directorial debut. Mehta previously co-directed the critically acclaimed series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story alongside his father Hansal Mehta, and later helmed the web series Lootere. Insiders suggest that Pralay will be mounted on a grand visual scale, with extensive world-building forming a key part of the storytelling.
With Dhurandhar driving Ranveer Singh’s box office momentum and Don 3 already among the most anticipated films of 2026, Pralay adds another exciting dimension to the actor’s upcoming lineup.
