Sunita Ahuja Withdraws Divorce Petition Against Govinda, Manager Confirms: ‘Now We Can Hope for Some Happy and Peaceful Time’
Sunita Ahuja has withdrawn the divorce petition she had filed against her husband, Bollywood actor Govinda, his manager Shashi Sinha has confirmed. The development comes after months of speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage and a series of public statements that had put their relationship under the spotlight.
According to Sinha, Sunita has officially taken back the petition from the Bandra Family Court. Speaking to India Today, Govinda’s manager confirmed that while the petition had been filed earlier, no further legal proceedings had taken place before Sunita decided to withdraw the case.

Speaking about the development, Shashi Sinha said that Sunita had decided to legally withdraw the divorce petition. He also expressed hope that the couple could now move towards a more peaceful phase.
Sinha further said that Govinda has chosen not to comment publicly on the matter. He suggested that the situation between the couple had become increasingly public, with both sides making remarks that attracted significant attention.
The development marks a major turn in the much-discussed marital controversy involving Govinda and Sunita Ahuja.
Sunita Ahuja's Bandra Family Court Visit Sparked Fresh Speculation
The latest development comes days after Sunita was spotted outside the Bandra Family Court with her son Yashvardhan Ahuja. Her appearance at the court had immediately triggered speculation about the status of her marriage to Govinda.
When photographers questioned her about the reason for her visit, Sunita chose not to disclose details and jokingly said, “Birthday manane aaye hain (We came to celebrate birthday).”
Her court appearance came amid renewed attention on her recent comments about Govinda and their relationship.
Sunita Ahuja Had Accused Govinda of Cheating
The controversy intensified after Sunita made candid remarks about Govinda's personal life. She reacted to photographs of the actor at an airport with actor Komal Rani Swarnkar and made comments suggesting that she was unhappy about his association with a younger woman.
Sunita also referred to Govinda as her “sugar daddy” while speaking to the paparazzi, further fueling speculation about trouble in their marriage.
Govinda later responded through a video message, urging Sunita to be careful about what she says publicly. He also asked her to “know your limits” and accused her of using a podcast to publicly humiliate him.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in March 1987 and have been together for nearly four decades. The couple has two children, daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja.
Sunita had reportedly filed a divorce petition against Govinda at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024, under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. The petition reportedly cited allegations including adultery, cruelty and desertion.
However, with Govinda's manager now confirming that Sunita has withdrawn the petition, the couple's divorce speculation appears to have come to an end for now.
