The Kerala Story 2 - Day 17 Box Office Collection: Continues to add numbers despite the dull box office phase.

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond Shows Good Weekend Jump, Nears ₹42 Crore After 17 Days Amid Dull Box Office Phase

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and featuring Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha and Aditi Bhatia in key roles, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond continues to demonstrate resilience at the Indian box office. Despite the ongoing dull period for theatrical business, the film has managed to keep the cash registers ringing and remains one of the very few titles still contributing meaningful numbers in cinemas.

The film stepped into its third week on Friday, collecting around ₹1.35 crore. While the Second weekday figure was modest, the movie showed encouraging traction over the weekend. Collections improved to approximately ₹2.50 crore on Saturday, followed by a slightly stronger ₹2.80 crore on Sunday, reflecting steady audience interest even in its third weekend.

The sequel had earlier posted a ₹20.65 crore opening week, followed by a ₹14.05 crore second week, indicating a gradual but stable hold after the initial run. With the latest weekend figures added, the film’s total domestic nett collection now stands at approximately ₹41.34 crore after 17 days.

Although the sequel has fallen short of matching the blockbuster success achieved by the original film in 2023, it has still managed to sustain a respectable theatrical run. From a trade perspective, the film is expected to close its run with an average verdict at the box office.

One notable aspect of the film’s run is that it has continued to collect revenue during what has largely been a completely dull period for theatrical business. With very limited competition over the past weeks, The Kerala Story 2 has been among the only titles still bringing audiences to cinemas and contributing steady daily collections.

However, the film’s run is about to face a massive shift at the box office. Starting Wednesday, the much-anticipated Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will arrive in cinemas with premiere shows and massive nationwide releases. The film’s advance bookings are already at an all-time high, and the industry is widely expecting it to dominate the theatrical landscape.

With exhibitors preparing to allocate the majority of screens to Dhurandhar 2, the upcoming action spectacle is all set to take over cinemas across the country. Trade circles are confident that the film could create a box office tsunami upon release, dramatically changing the current dull theatrical scenario.

As a result, The Kerala Story 2 now has roughly two more days to add a few more chunks to its lifetime total before the majority of its screens shift to the new release. Based on current trends, the film is expected to finish its theatrical run around the ₹45 crore nett mark in India.
