Toxic Box Office: Monday Wipeout Confirms The Slide, Tuesday Stays Just As Flat In Hindi

The week that was supposed to test whether Toxic could stabilise has instead confirmed the opposite. After a flat first Sunday, the film fell off a cliff on Monday and never really recovered on Tuesday either, collecting a similar low number on both days. The extended first week has now closed at approximately 135 crore nett in Hindi  a number that would have seemed impossible to imagine on the evening of Day 1.

Monday Confirmed What Sunday Already Signalled

Monday is traditionally the harshest test any release faces, since it strips away both the opening-day hype and the weekend cushion in one go. Toxic didn't just fail that test, it collapsed through it, dropping to roughly a third of its already-weak Sunday number. A film that had opened past the 54 crore mark was, by Day 6, struggling to clear 4.5 crore even with discounted weekday ticket pricing in play.

Tuesday: Same Story, Different Day

If there was hope that Tuesday would show even a marginal uptick  the kind of stabilisation that sometimes follows a brutal Monday  that hope didn't materialise either. Tuesday's collection landed only marginally above Monday's, effectively flat, despite the benefit of discounted rates. The pattern from Saturday through Tuesday is now unmistakable: this is a film that has stopped pulling in new audiences and is coasting purely on whatever base showed up out of habit in the first two days.

The Lifetime Math Keeps Shrinking

Day 1's 54.50 crore had put even conservative lifetime estimates in the 200 crore nett neighbourhood. That number was already looking shaky after a flat Sunday; after this Monday-Tuesday leg, it looks close to fantasy. The extended first week is likely to add another 5-6 crore nett over Wednesday and Thursday, pushing the total toward roughly 140 crore nett before the film heads into its second Friday  where it will also face fresh competition from Mirzapur - The Movie, which is likely to eat further into whatever screens and footfall Toxic is still holding onto. On the current trajectory, even 150 crore nett lifetime looks like a stretch rather than a formality, let alone the 200 crore mark once being discussed.

This pattern  a massive opening day followed by a steep, sustained collapse that keeps shaving down the projected total  has precedent in Hindi cinema. Big-star openers like Thugs Of Hindustan (2018) and Zero (2019) both posted enormous Day 1 numbers before word of mouth turned decisively against them, and both finished well short of what their openings had promised. Toxic's week-one trend continues to track that same arc.

All-India Picture Still Carried By The North

Across all versions and territories, Toxic's all-India business stands at roughly 214 crore nett for the week, with the southern states contributing only modestly to that total. The extended first week is expected to fall short of 225 crore nett all-India, after which growth will be limited to incremental Hindi and Kannada-version collections. A 250 crore nett all-India total is looking unlikely from here.

Regionally, the film should still outperform most 2025 releases in circuits like Bihar, Odisha and CP Berar, largely on the strength of its opening day rather than any sustained run  in Odisha specifically, its final tally is expected to land close to what Border 2 managed.

The One Genuine Positive

If there's a silver lining, it's the scale of the initial response itself. In several circuits, Toxic is the biggest opener among recent sequels, and that alone says something about the pull Yash carries post-KGF 2  particularly in markets where many established Hindi stars have struggled to move the needle. Some within the trade have pointed to the film's suggestive content as a factor working against it, noting that this territory has rarely sustained record-breaking business once the initial curiosity wears off. What got Toxic its historic first day was scale, action and star power; what has undercut it since is an audience that simply hasn't stuck around.

Toxic Box Office: The Verdict Is Increasingly Clear

Five days ago, this looked like a film that might struggle to hold its number. Two days later, it's a film that has confirmed it. A flat Sunday, a near-collapse on Monday and an equally flat Tuesday have taken roughly 50-60 crore off the lifetime projection compared to what Day 1 alone suggested. There's still a second week, and still a chance for things to shift  but on current form, Toxic's story is shaping up to be a case of a spectacular opening that the film itself couldn't sustain.
