Welcome To The Jungle Closes Tuesday Strong, Night Shows Drive 9 Cr Plus Total
Welcome To The Jungle has reported solid occupancy of 40 percent in the night shows on day five. The film benefited heavily from reduced ticket prices on the first Tuesday. The strong turnout post 6 pm pushed the day’s business up significantly. Crowds were visible across both mass centers and multiplexes during late evening shows.
With this night show surge, the film’s overall occupancy for the day is estimated at around 35 percent. That is an excellent jump from the 15 to 20 percent recorded in morning shows. The discounted ATP clearly brought families and groups back to cinemas. The day five trend shows how price sensitivity can impact weekday footfalls.
As per early estimates, Welcome To The Jungle is expected to collect 9 to 9.5 crore net at the Indian box office on day five. That is a higher number than Monday’s 7.5 crore plus net. The film has shown growth on a weekday which is rare after a good opening weekend. The five day total will now be close to the 80 crore net mark.
The Tuesday performance gives Welcome To The Jungle solid momentum going into the rest of the week. Wednesday will return to normal pricing and the hold from there becomes important. For now the discounted day has delivered big and the film remains on track for success. The second weekend will decide if it can achieve HIT status.
