Akshay Kumar to feature for 40-45 Minutes in Golmaal 5; Shares Equal Space With Ajay Devgn
The next installment of the blockbuster comedy franchise Golmaal 5 is gradually moving forward with production, and fresh details about the film’s casting and shooting schedule have begun to emerge. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film is expected to bring back the signature chaos and humor that made the Golmaal series one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises.
According to our sources, Akshay Kumar has joined the project alongside Ajay Devgn, with Akshay playing equally important characters in the narrative. Akshay has allotted around 18 days for the shoot, and his role is expected to feature roughly 40–45 minutes of screen time in the final cut.
Another major development is the return of Sharman Joshi, who will make his comeback to the franchise after being absent from the later installments. Joshi was a part of the original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, and his return is expected to add a nostalgic layer for long-time fans.
Meanwhile, the production of Golmaal 5 has already begun. The film has completed around 10–12 days of shooting at Goregaon Film City in Mumbai, where portions involving child actors, Sharman Joshi and others were filmed.
Interestingly, the upcoming installment is not expected to feature a major A-list actress in a prominent role, with the makers reportedly choosing to focus more on the ensemble-driven comedy and character dynamics.
With Rohit Shetty back at the helm and a strong mix of returning faces and new additions, Golmaal 5 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood comedy releases in the coming years. The film is currently eyeing an early 2027 theatrical release, although an official date has yet to be announced.
