Annu Kapoor Makes Shocking Claim on Intimate Scenes: “Actors Lose Control… Actress Had to Run Off”

Veteran actor Annu Kapoor has sparked a conversation around the realities of filming intimate scenes in Bollywood, sharing a disturbing incident from a film set that highlights the need for professionalism and boundaries.

Speaking on Siddharth Kannan’s show, Kapoor revealed that there have been instances where actors have crossed limits while shooting such sequences. He recalled a particular incident that left a co-actor deeply shaken.

“I have seen actors get aroused during intimate scenes and not stop even when the director says cut. Many take advantage of such situations… During one such scene, the hero got carried away. Even after ‘cut’ was called, he didn’t stop. The actress had to struggle to get away and run off. She was so shaken that she didn’t step out of her room for two days.”

Kapoor chose not to name the actors involved but stressed that such incidents are not isolated, underlining the importance of maintaining respect and consent on set.

On Handling Intimate Scenes Professionally

Reflecting on his own approach, Kapoor emphasised that he has always tried to ensure his co-actors feel comfortable during such sequences.

“I have always handled such scenes professionally. If an actress feels nervous, I simply ask if she’s okay. I don’t ask anything more because that could make her more uncomfortable.”

Priyanka Chopra Incident Revisited

Kapoor also revisited his experience while working with Priyanka Chopra in the film 7 Khoon Maaf, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.

He revealed that a kissing scene was part of the script, but Priyanka was not comfortable performing it. According to Kapoor, the situation was handled without conflict.

“The team told me she wasn’t comfortable. I didn’t create any issue… we did the scene professionally.”

A Larger Conversation

Kapoor’s remarks bring attention to an ongoing conversation in the industry about consent, safety, and professionalism during the filming of intimate scenes. His candid account highlights how, despite evolving practices, there is still a need for stricter boundaries and sensitivity on film sets.
