Bhooth Bangla - Day 1 Advance Booking Report

Bhooth Bangla - Day 1 Advance Booking Report

Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla is gradually picking up pace in advance bookings for Day 1, with numbers showing a steady rise as the release draws closer.

As of 11 PM on Thursday, Bhooth Bangla has sold approximately 75,000 tickets across the top national chains PVR INOX and Cinepolis for paid previews and Day 1 combined. The breakup indicates that around 39,000 tickets were sold for the paid previews before the first shows commenced, while 35,270 tickets have been recorded for Friday (Day 1) so far. Trade estimates suggest that the Day 1 advance could see a further push closer to midnight.

The momentum comes after a gradual start earlier in the week, with bookings accelerating significantly in the final 24 hours. The trend, often observed in star-led commercial entertainers, reflects stronger spot bookings and walk-in audiences closer to showtime, particularly in key urban centres.

In terms of revenue, the film is expected to collect ₹3.5 crore or more from its paid previews, providing a stable base ahead of its full-fledged theatrical run on Friday. Based on current advance booking trends and occupancy patterns, Bhooth Bangla is looking at an opening day in the range of ₹14 crore to ₹17 crore, including preview collections.

The film’s performance gains further importance in the context of recent releases. While some mid-scale films have managed steady runs, the industry has been looking for consistent performers to maintain momentum at the box office. Early reactions from preview audiences for Bhooth Bangla have been largely positive, which, if sustained, could translate into stronger footfalls over the weekend.

Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, the horror-comedy has been released across more than 3,200 screens in India, giving it a wide platform to capitalise on its improving buzz. The film also features a supporting cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Tabu.

With advance sales showing an upward trend and early word-of-mouth tilting positive, the film’s immediate trajectory will depend on how it holds through Friday and whether it can convert the initial interest into sustained occupancy over the weekend.

While the growth trend is positive, the overall pace still suggests that the film will need to accelerate further in the coming hours to build stronger pre-release buzz. With limited shows currently open, a wider rollout could play a key role in boosting numbers.

The movie will boost advance booking this evening onwards, and by tomorrow before the premiers, advance sales should be in a decent to good position. The film should benefit from the paid previews wom and that should help film get the cashing faster at the box office.
