A Double Blessing: Ranbir Kapoor's Epic Dual Role
Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that he'll be playing a double role in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, portraying both Lord Rama and Lord Parshurama. Speaking to Collider at the LA event, Ranbir expressed his gratitude, saying, "Lord Vishnu had different avatars. Lord Rama was an avatar, and Lord Parshurama was an avatar before Lord Rama".
Ranbir revealed that he spent a year understanding the emotionality and spirituality of both characters, which helped him differentiate their personalities. He emphasized the importance of grasping the characters' motives and values, saying, "I think as an actor, apart from body language, if you deeply understand the spirituality and emotionality of characters, everything starts from there".
The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Ramayana is expected to be a grand spectacle, with its first part releasing on Diwali 2026 and the second part on Diwali 2027.
Ranbir Kapoor described Ramayana as "nothing less than Lord of the Rings," highlighting its epic scale and emotional depth. With its stunning visuals and action sequences, the film promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience.
