Varanasi: A Blockbuster in the Making with SS Rajamouli's Magic,
Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra's Epic Adventure is Heating Up
SS Rajamouli's latest film, Varanasi, is generating massive buzz, with over 50,000 fans expressing interest on BookMyShow (BMS) a year before its release. This isn't surprising, given the powerhouse cast, including Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, and Rajamouli's track record of delivering epic blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR.
The film's title reveal event, GlobeTrotter, was a grand affair, with 50,000 Mahesh Babu fans gathering at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The event showcased the film's epic scale, with a 100x140 feet LED screen and a stage fit for a Bollywood award night. Priyanka Chopra made a stunning appearance, wading through the crowd and waving at fans.
Varanasi promises to be a visual spectacle, with Mahesh Babu playing Rudhra, an adventurer who travels across time and continents. Priyanka Chopra plays Mandakini, a mysterious woman, while Prithviraj Sukumaran is cast as Kumbha, the antagonist. The film draws inspiration from the Ramayana, with Rajamouli stating that all his films are inspired by the epics of Lord Rama.
The film's budget is a whopping ₹1,200 crore, excluding marketing, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever. With 50% of the shoot completed, Rajamouli is optimistic about delivering a cinematic experience that will surpass his previous works.
