Exclusive: Rashmika Mandanna Gets Honest About Sikandar- A Film That Changed And Failed

Rashmika Mandanna Finally Opens Up On Salman Khan’s Sikandar Debacle: The Film Changed Completely

Rashmika Mandanna has finally spoken about the box office failure of Sikandar, the AR Murugadoss-directed action drama that marked her first collaboration with Salman Khan. Released on Eid 2025 with huge expectations and massive hype, the film failed to connect with audiences and ended its theatrical run on a disappointing note, making it one of the biggest shocks of the year.

Currently riding high on success after delivering multiple hits like Chhaava, The Girlfriend and Thamma in 2025, Rashmika admitted that Sikandar’s failure was emotionally tough for everyone involved. The film was expected to be a grand entertainer, but things did not turn out as planned, leaving not just the team but even Salman Khan deeply disappointed.

In a recent conversation with a Telugu journalist, Rashmika revealed a major reason behind the film’s downfall. She shared that the script she initially heard during narration was very different from what eventually reached the screen. According to her, the original story had a completely different flow and impact, which made her excited to be part of the project.

Rashmika further explained that such changes are common in filmmaking. She said that scripts often evolve during shooting, editing and post-production, influenced by performances, creative decisions and release timing. Unfortunately, in the case of Sikandar, these changes did not work in the film’s favor and the final outcome failed to meet expectations.

Mounted on a massive budget of around 200 crore, Sikandar could not recover its production cost. As per industry tracking reports, the film collected around 185 crore worldwide, officially making it a box office failure despite its scale and star power.

Rashmika Mandanna’s Powerful Lineup Ahead

Despite the setback, Rashmika Mandanna’s career graph remains strong and steadily rising. The actress has an exciting slate of upcoming projects across multiple industries. She will next be seen in Cocktail 2, a major Hindi film where she shares screen space with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The film is already generating strong buzz, with expectations high for Rashmika to deliver another impactful performance in a fresh, modern avatar. Alongside Bollywood, she continues to strengthen her South cinema presence with the Tamil film Mysaa, which is said to showcase her in a more intense and performance-driven role. With a mix of commercial entertainers and content-driven films, Rashmika is clearly focused on long-term growth and versatility, proving why she remains one of the most sought-after actresses in Indian cinema today.

On the personal front, reports suggest that Rashmika may be planning to tie the knot with actor Vijay Deverakonda in February 2026. However, no official confirmation has been made yet.

While Sikandar may have failed at the box office, Rashmika Mandanna’s honesty, confidence and strong upcoming lineup prove that one setback cannot slow down a star who continues to evolve, adapt and shine. CineInfinity believes that failures fade, but consistency creates legends.
