Rajinikanth confirms Jailer 2 shoot wrap, says release date announcement soon
The much-anticipated sequel Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, has completed its shoot and is currently in post-production, the actor confirmed on Saturday.
Speaking briefly to the media at Chennai airport, Rajinikanth shared an update on the film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
“The shooting of Jailer 2 has been completed and the film is now in its final stages. The production team will soon officially announce the release date,” he said.
The actor was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at the airport and responded to a few questions with a smile. However, when asked about the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections scheduled for April 23, he declined to comment and simply said, “Vanakkam.”
Rajinikanth’s latest remarks come weeks after he addressed claims made by Aadhav Arjuna regarding his decision to stay away from politics. In a statement, the actor thanked supporters who spoke out against the remarks and reiterated his stance, adding that time would provide the answers.
In December 2020, Rajinikanth had announced plans to launch a political party ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections but later withdrew, citing health concerns and describing the situation as a “warning from God.” He had then stated that he would continue to serve people without entering electoral politics.
With Jailer 2 now entering post-production, anticipation around the film continues to build, with fans awaiting an official release date announcement.
