Rashmika Mandanna Calls Viral Audio Clip an ‘Invasion of Privacy’, Warns of Legal Action

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has responded to the viral audio clip controversy that has been circulating on social media over the past day. Addressing the issue through a note on Instagram Stories, the actor described the situation as a serious invasion of privacy and urged people to stop sharing the clip.

According to Rashmika, the audio being circulated online is believed to be from a private conversation recorded nearly eight years ago. She said a small portion of that conversation has been taken out of context and spread online, creating unnecessary controversy.

In her statement, Rashmika said that she has faced misinformation, harassment and targeted attacks from certain sections of the media and social media for several years. She added that while she had chosen to stay silent earlier, the recent developments have crossed a line.

“An old private conversation, believed to be from nearly eight years ago, appears to have been recorded and circulated without the knowledge or consent of those involved. A small portion of that conversation has now been deliberately taken out of context and circulated widely to create yet another discomforting controversy,” she wrote.

The actor also expressed concern that the situation has now begun affecting people close to her, including family members and individuals who have nothing to do with the matter.

She further said that while criticism is a part of being in the public eye, the circulation of private conversations and misleading narratives cannot be ignored.

Rashmika has now requested media platforms, influencers and individuals who are sharing the content to remove it within 24 hours. She warned that if the material continues to circulate, legal action will be taken, including issuing legal notices to those involved in spreading what she described as defamatory and privacy-violating content.

The actor said the decision to speak publicly was not easy but had become necessary to protect her dignity, privacy and peace.
