The excitement around Drishyam 3 continues to grow, and the latest update has only raised expectations further. The third installment of the hugely successful franchise is shaping up to be its most ambitious chapter yet, and now a powerful new name has been added to the cast.
As exclusively reported by Pinkvilla, Jaideep Ahlawat has officially joined Drishyam 3 and will be seen sharing screen space with Ajay Devgn and Tabu for the first time in the franchise.
Known for his intense performances and commanding screen presence, Jaideep Ahlawat’s inclusion is expected to add a fresh layer of intrigue to the narrative. According to a source close to the development, the actor will begin shooting for the film in January 2026. “Jaideep has been roped in for a pivotal and extremely exciting role, one that will introduce a new twist and significantly elevate the storyline,” the source revealed.
Ajay Devgn is set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar, a character that has become iconic over the years, while Tabu will once again portray IG Meera Deshmukh, continuing the gripping cat-and-mouse battle that has been central to the franchise’s success.
Drishyam 3 has also been making headlines recently following reports of Akshaye Khanna’s exit from the project. While there has been no official confirmation from the makers, industry buzz suggests that differences over remuneration may have led to his departure.
For context, the Drishyam franchise originated in 2013 with Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam crime thriller, produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas and starring Mohanlal. The Hindi remake rights were later acquired by Panorama Studios, led by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, resulting in the successful Hindi adaptations featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and others.
