Welcome To The Jungle goes BIG-Akshay Kumar leads as massive forest sets are built in Mumbai for a high-octane climax

Mumbai is known for its skyline and fast-paced life, not dense forests. Yet for Welcome To The Jungle, director Ahmed Khan has transformed parts of the city into a full-fledged jungle setting for the film’s massive climax. The climax shoot began on December 5 and is being filmed across multiple locations including Film City, Royal Palms, Borivali and two zones in Aarey Colony. Under the guidance of production designer Shailesh Mahadik, large-scale sets have been created to replicate a raw forest environment complete with thick foliage and rugged landscapes, all designed to support high-octane action.

The makers had initially planned to shoot the finale in the forests of Uttar Pradesh. However, extreme winter conditions and the complexity of managing such a large-scale shoot led to a rethink. With an ensemble cast of over 30 actors and a crew strength touching nearly 500, executing intense stunt sequences in real forests became a logistical challenge.

Producer Firoz A Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan eventually decided that Mumbai offered better control, safety and efficiency without compromising the visual scale. The city-based jungle sets allow the team to choreograph complex action while keeping schedules intact.

The film brings together a powerhouse cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Paresh Rawal, Tusshar Kapoor and many more. Coordinating dates was the biggest hurdle, but once everyone came together on set, the shoot turned into an energetic and celebratory affair. After completing this schedule, the team will head to North India to film wide outdoor shots in real forest locations to enhance the scale of the climax.

With grand sets, a massive ensemble and a jungle-based finale packed with action and humor, Welcome To The Jungle is shaping up to be one of the film’s biggest highlights.
