BREAKING: Dhurandhar Sequel Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge; Teaser Cleared by CBFC with ‘A’ Certificate
The sequel to the historic blockbuster Dhurandhar has officially taken shape. In a major development, the Ranveer Singh–led franchise will return with a new chapter titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
According to certification details accessed by CineInfinity, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the teaser of the sequel earlier today, Monday, January 19. The censor certificate confirms the official title as Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The teaser runs for just over one minute and has been awarded an ‘A’ certificate, signaling a darker, more intense tone for the upcoming installment.
Adding to the excitement, the teaser of Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be attached to the theatrical prints of Border 2, ensuring a massive big-screen launch. A digitally released version of the teaser is also expected to follow after its theatrical premiere.
As earlier reported, both Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 fall within the patriotic action genre, and the makers are keen to tap into the current wave of nationalistic cinema. The strategy is designed to directly engage theatrical audiences before the teaser’s digital rollout.
The first part of Dhurandhar featured an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by B62 Studios (Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar) in association with Jio Studios (Jyoti Deshpande), the film chronicled the story of an Indian spy infiltrating a dreaded gang in Karachi, Pakistan.
Despite a measured opening, Dhurandhar grew exponentially through word of mouth, ultimately rewriting box office history. As of January 18, the film has amassed an astonishing ₹879.75 crore, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
With expectations sky-high, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now gearing up for its theatrical release on March 19, exactly two months from today. If early signs are anything to go by, the sequel is poised to deliver an even more explosive cinematic experience.
