EXCLUSIVE: Release Plan of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Comes to Light
With just two days left for its theatrical release, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday is slowly gaining attention because of its youthful vibe, fresh pairing and music. Advance booking opened over the weekend, and CineInfinity has learned important details about the film’s release strategy across single screens and multiplexes.
According to our information, the makers are fully aware that Dhurandhar continues to dominate cinemas and is expected to remain extremely strong even on Christmas. At the same time, Avatar Fire And Ash has already occupied a large number of screens and shows. Keeping these ground realities in mind, the film’s distribution team has gone ahead with a balanced and realistic showcasing plan.
As per the plan, single screen theatres have been requested to allot at least 2 shows per day. Two screen cinemas have been asked for 5 shows, while three screen multiplexes are expected to run the film for 6 shows daily. For larger properties, the requirement goes up steadily. Four screen multiplexes are asked to play 8 shows, five screen properties 12 shows, six screen cinemas 14 shows, and multiplexes with seven screens or more have been requested to give a minimum of 16 shows per day. These numbers are being positioned as the basic minimum and not aggressive demands.
Despite this practical approach, the film is facing challenges on the ground. As of the morning of December 23, bookings have opened mainly in multiplexes with four or more screens, and even there the film is playing on limited screens. Single screens along with two and three screen cinemas are still in discussion mode and have not fully opened ticket sales yet. While Avatar Fire And Ash is not playing in single screens, theatres are still finding it difficult to divide shows between Dhurandhar and this romcom because Dhurandhar continues to pull audiences even after more than two weeks. The long runtime of both Dhurandhar and Avatar Fire And Ash is adding further pressure on show allocation in multiplexes.
Industry experts are appreciating the makers for keeping expectations realistic. In an environment where many films push for excessive showcasing, this approach is being seen as sensible and respectful of exhibitors. Given Kartik Aaryan’s growing popularity and the strong audience base for romantic entertainers, trade believes the film deserves a fair chance to grow.
However, there is one concern. Advance bookings for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri remain low so far, and with only about one and a half days left before release, the film needs a clear jump in advance sales to secure a decent opening. The next 24 to 36 hours will be crucial in determining how strongly the film opens at the box office.
