Unlike Dhurandhar (Part 1), which followed a low-key promotional strategy, the sequel is being positioned as a high-impact event film, with a full-fledged marketing blitz scheduled to begin in the first week of March.
Jio Takes Direct Control of Promotions
Sources tracking the project confirm to CineInfinity that the studio was not satisfied with Netflix’s handling of Dhurandhar 1. The expectation was that the film’s digital premiere would naturally translate into heightened awareness and momentum for the sequel. Instead, censorship-related edits and substandard colour grading triggered negative conversation online, prompting the studio to reassess its dependency on external platforms.
Trailer Launch at NMACC, Bandra
Sources confirm to CineInfinity that the official trailer of Dhurandhar 2 will be unveiled at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Bandra, underlining the studio’s intent to give the film a high-profile, industry-facing launch.
A major song from the film is locked for release on March 12, coinciding with director Aditya Dhar’s birthday, while the film itself is confirmed for a March 19 theatrical release.
Film is all set for March 19th theatrical release clashing with Yash-starrer pan India film Toxic.
