De De Pyaar De 2 Box Office Day 1: Ajay Devgn’s Rom-Com Opens at ₹8.50 Cr; Targets a ₹30 Cr Weekend

Friday, November 14, 2025  Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2 has finally arrived in cinemas, and the film has taken a start that aligns closely with trade expectations. According to early estimates, the Luv Ranjan production has collected ₹8.25 – ₹8.75 crore, settling at a Day 1 total of around ₹8.50 crore.

The opening is decent for an urban-skewed rom-com, though a double-digit start (₹10 crore) would have given the film a stronger push heading into the weekend. Still, the reception indicates enough interest among multiplex audiences, giving the film a platform to grow over Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday Jump Crucial

Given the genre and the appeal among youth and city audiences, Saturday will be the key. A jump to the ₹10 crore+ range is very much possible, especially if word of mouth picks up through the day.

If the trend holds, De De Pyaar De 2 is expected to deliver a ₹30 crore+ opening weekend, which would place it in a comfortable zone to build momentum over the weekdays.

Comparison with Son of Sardaar 2

Interestingly, the opening numbers are in the same vicinity as Son of Sardaar 2, but trade analysts believe that De De Pyaar De 2 has better potential for weekend growth due to its urban flavour and lighter genre.

A Sequel With Expectations

Being a follow-up to the successful De De Pyaar De (2019), the film carries strong brand value. The makers will now be looking at steady word of mouth and solid weekend trends to continue the franchise’s winning run.

With eyes now set on the Saturday jump, all that remains to be seen is whether Ajay Devgn’s charm and Luv Ranjan’s storytelling can deliver yet another theatrical winner.

Stay tuned for the Day 2 early estimates.
