Dhurandhar 2 Advance Bookings Storm Past ₹100 Crore Worldwide; Ranveer Singh Starrer Shatters Pathaan, RRR Records in US
The advance booking wave for Dhurandhar: The Revenge has turned into a full-blown box office storm. With just days left for release, the Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller is rewriting records across territories and setting the stage for one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema history.
The film’s advance bookings have been running at a breakneck pace, with more than 10 lakh tickets already sold for the first day and preview shows in India alone. The momentum has been relentless ever since bookings opened, with ticket sales surging across multiplex chains and international markets.
Record-Breaking Paid Preview Numbers
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel will hit theatres on March 19, with paid preview shows scheduled for the evening of March 18.
The film has already created history by delivering the biggest premiere for an Indian film, grossing ₹32.44 crore from preview shows domestically. The previous record was held by Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which had earned ₹25 crore in premiere collections.
Trade trackers now believe that Dhurandhar 2 could cross ₹40 crore in preview collections alone by Wednesday, an unprecedented feat for a Hindi film.
Massive Opening Day Advance Booking
Advance bookings for the regular shows began over the weekend and the response has been explosive. The film has already collected ₹14.66 crore gross in opening day pre-sales, with ticket sales continuing to accelerate across major circuits.
In total, close to 10 lakh tickets have already been sold for the preview and opening day shows combined.
According to trade insiders, domestic advance bookings for the entire opening weekend have already crossed ₹60 crore, with numbers expected to surge further as the release date approaches.
Overseas Box Office Rampage
The film’s dominance is not limited to India. Overseas markets are witnessing a similar frenzy.
In North America, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Indian film to cross the $5 million mark in advance bookings, beating previous record holders like Pathaan, RRR, and Baahubali 2, each of which had crossed the $4 million mark in the territory.
Globally, the film has already earned over $6 million in advance bookings.
This pushes the worldwide advance booking gross beyond a monumental ₹120 crore, and with more than two days still left before release, trade analysts believe the figure could easily cross ₹150 crore and potentially even challenge ₹200 crore before the first show begins.
With spot bookings yet to kick in, Dhurandhar 2 is rapidly shaping up to be a box office juggernaut, reminiscent of the record-breaking era ushered in by Baahubali.
Cast and Expectations
Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film features a strong ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Actor Akshaye Khanna, who played the menacing villain Rehman Dakait in the first film, is also expected to appear in a cameo.
The first Dhurandhar had emerged as a massive blockbuster, grossing ₹1300 crore worldwide and continuing to run in theatres even three months after its release.
Trade circles are now betting big on the sequel, with early projections suggesting that Dhurandhar 2 could challenge the ₹2000 crore global mark and potentially dethrone Dangal, which has held the all-time worldwide record for nearly a decade.
At the current pace, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is not just gearing up for a massive opening — it is looking like a full-scale box office phenomenon.
