Priyanka Chopra Jonas Breaks Silence On Tough Bollywood Phase That Led Her To Hollywood

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Opens Up On Feeling Cornered In Bollywood, Reveals Why She Chose To Explore Global Opportunities

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently spoke openly about a phase in her career when she felt cornered in Bollywood and why that pushed her to look for opportunities on the global stage.

During a conversation on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Priyanka shared that her journey in films began soon after she won the Miss World 2000 crown. One of her earliest film experiences was the Tamil movie Thamizhan where she starred opposite Vijay. She remembered being amazed by the massive crowds that gathered for Vijay and said that moment gave her an early understanding of how powerful stardom can be in Indian cinema.

Speaking about her career decisions later in life, Priyanka explained that she prefers to move forward instead of staying in uncomfortable situations. She said she does not like remaining stuck in an environment that no longer feels right because people eventually get used to it even when it is not healthy. According to her, exploring work outside India was not about rejecting Bollywood but about creating new opportunities for herself.

Priyanka also pointed out that there was a time when she felt pushed into a corner in the industry due to limited roles and internal politics. Rather than waiting for things to change, she decided to take control of her career and try something different.

Her international journey first began with music. She collaborated with global artists like Pitbull and will.i.am before eventually moving into acting projects in the United States. Her major breakthrough came with the television series Quantico in 2015, which made her one of the first Indian actors to lead a major American network show.

Despite building a strong career internationally, Priyanka has always maintained a connection with India. She has repeatedly said that she never intended to completely leave Bollywood and is always open to returning for films that excite her creatively.

Today, Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to work across industries and remains one of the most recognized Indian faces on the global entertainment stage.
