Operation Sindoor Film Confirmed: Vivek Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar Join Hands for High-Impact War Drama

In a major development, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is all set to helm a film based on Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan, with Bhushan Kumar backing the project.

The film will be inspired by India’s military response to the April 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, and will chronicle the high-impact operation carried out between May 6 and May 10, 2025.

Director Confirms the Project

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri confirmed the project and described it as both urgent and necessary.

“I have always believed in telling stories that are uncomfortable but necessary. My effort is to bring this story of courage, professionalism, and strategic clarity to audiences with authenticity, while also presenting it as an edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience,” he said.

Backed by T-Series

The film will be co-produced under Vivek’s banner I Am Buddha Production along with T-Series, led by Bhushan Kumar.

Calling the project deeply significant, Bhushan Kumar shared:

“Some stories are not chosen; they choose you. Operation Sindoor is one such story. When a nation goes through events of such magnitude, it becomes important to document them truthfully.”

Extensive Ground-Level Research

Vivek further revealed that the team has conducted extensive on-ground research in collaboration with multiple wings of the Armed Forces.

“We have worked to understand not just what happened, but how and why it happened. What emerges is far more complex and precise than what’s available in the public domain,” he added.

What’s Next?

While the announcement has generated strong buzz, details regarding casting and release timeline are still under wraps.

Vivek’s last major project, The Bengal Files (originally titled The Delhi Files), marked the final chapter in his investigative trilogy after The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files.

With Operation Sindoor, the filmmaker now turns his focus to a contemporary and high-stakes chapter of India’s military history, promising a gripping and hard-hitting cinematic experience.
