Raghav Juyal Joins the Cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana
From his early days as a popular television personality on Dance India Dance and Dance Plus to steadily carving a space for himself as an actor, Raghav Juyal has come a long way. After gaining wider recognition with Bads of Bollywood last year, Raghav has emerged as a sought-after name and has now landed the biggest project of his career so far.
According to an exclusive report by Variety India, Raghav Juyal has joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated epic Ramayana. The actor will be seen playing Meghanad (Indrajit), the eldest son of Ravana and the crown prince of Lanka. His character is expected to appear in Ramayana: Part 2, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
The role was earlier intended for Vikrant Massey, but the casting did not materialize due to undisclosed reasons. Raghav was subsequently approached and came on board soon after. He is expected to begin filming once he fully recovers from his recent injury.
In the epic, Meghanad is regarded as one of the most formidable warriors of the Ramayana. Known for his extraordinary battlefield abilities, legends describe him as a master strategist capable of fighting from the skies while remaining hidden behind clouds. Notably, he is remembered as the only warrior to have defeated both Lord Ram and Lakshman twice before eventually being killed by Lakshman.
Billed as the biggest Indian film production to date, Ramayana boasts a massive pan-India cast led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble also includes Ravi Dubey (Lakshman), Sunny Deol (Lord Hanuman), Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Rakul Preet Singh (Surpanakha), Arun Govil (King Dashrath), Indira Krishnan (Queen Kaushalya), Sheeba Chaddha (Manthara), Adinath Kothare (Bharat) and Kunal Kapoor (Lord Indra). Vijay Sethupathi is also rumored to be part of the project, though there is no official confirmation yet.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part cinematic spectacle. Shot in IMAX and powered by cutting-edge visual effects, the film aims to present the timeless Rama–Ravana saga to a global audience on an unprecedented scale.
While Part 1 is scheduled to release during the Diwali weekend later this year, Part 2 will arrive in cinemas on Diwali 2027. The makers are also expected to unveil the film’s first look on Ram Navami, March 27, 2026, at a grand event in Mumbai though an official announcement is still awaited.
