Delhi HC Refuses To Stall ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ OTT Release, Orders T-Series To Deposit ₹50 Lakh

The legal troubles surrounding Dhurandhar: The Revenge continue to intensify, but the film has received a major relief from the Delhi High Court for now.

In the latest development, the Delhi High Court has reportedly refused to stay the OTT release of the film amid the ongoing copyright dispute linked to the song Rang De Lal (Oye Oye). However, while allowing the release to move forward, the court has directed T-Series to deposit ₹50 lakh within four weeks as part of the ongoing proceedings.

The case revolves around allegations concerning the usage and rights associated with the iconic Tridev track Oye Oye Tirchi Topiwale, which was reportedly adapted in the film. The dispute was brought before the court by Trimurti Films, which raised objections over the alleged unauthorised use of the original intellectual property.

Despite the controversy, the court chose not to impose an immediate restraint on the film’s OTT rollout. According to reports, the bench observed that the question of financial damages or copyright compensation could still be examined later if infringement claims are ultimately proven in court.

The ₹50 lakh deposit ordered by the court is reportedly intended to safeguard potential claims while the matter continues legally. The amount is expected to be kept in an interest-bearing fixed deposit until further proceedings.

This is not the first legal hurdle faced by Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Over the past few weeks, the film has repeatedly found itself in headlines due to multiple disputes and petitions linked to its content, release strategy, and intellectual property concerns. Yet despite the controversies, the makers have continued moving ahead with the film’s distribution plans.

Industry observers believe the court’s decision offers temporary relief to the producers and streaming partners, especially considering the scale of investment attached to the project. The refusal to halt the OTT release is being viewed as a significant short-term win for the film’s team.
At the same time, the legal battle itself appears far from over.

Reports suggest the court has encouraged mediation between the parties involved while also directing the maintenance of detailed revenue records connected to the film’s exploitation and release.
As the controversy unfolds, Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to remain one of the most talked-about projects in the entertainment space  not just for its content, but also for the growing legal storm surrounding it.
